Emergency vehicles of every kind will be heading for North Katoomba Public School for the inaugural Emergency Services Get Ready Fun Day!

The Get Ready Fun Day is all about getting prepared for any emergency. A collaboration between multiple agencies including NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW Fire & Rescue, RSPCA, Belong, Connect, Wild Plant Rescue and others, you can meet the emergency and recovery support services who are there to help you before, during and after an emergency.

“At any emergency, all of the agencies work together to protect the community and help it recover afterwards. This is an opportunity to help the kids feel less scared during an emergency, when the flashing lights are buzzing about,” said Peter Bennett, Captain of the Katoomba-Leura Rural Fire Brigade. “We are experiencing unprecedented fire conditions this early in the season. I encourage you to come along.”

Young and old are encouraged to dress in their favourite emergency services uniform or their favourite super hero! There will be a sausage sizzle, cake stall, treasure hunt and fun activities for the kids to test their skills against the crews. Get up close to all the emergency vehicles and equipment in a safe environment. The grown ups can find out more about the bush fire season which has started early this year.

Get your boots on and get to North Katoomba Public School. The Fun Day runs from 2-5pm on Sunday 22 September.
